About savevimeo

savevimeo saves a public Vimeo video as one MP4 file. Vimeo streams picture and sound as separate tracks in short pieces; savevimeo reads which qualities a video has, then your browser fetches the pieces from Vimeo and joins them into an ordinary MP4 with H.264 video and AAC sound.

It also saves a video’s sound as an M4A file, its subtitle tracks as SRT files, and its cover image at full size.

The video never passes through our server. Our server reads the video’s public player page to list its qualities, and that is all. It does not store videos, and it keeps no record of what you saved.

savevimeo refuses private and password-protected videos, videos limited to their owner’s website, live events, Vimeo On Demand titles and anything protected against copying. When a rights holder asks, a video is blocked here.
